We’re pleased to share the preliminary results of the 2026 Pennsylvania Primary Election and to thank every voter who turned out and made their voice heard on Election Day.
A huge thank you as well to the poll workers, election staff, volunteers, and everyone who helped keep our elections running smoothly across Mercer County. Your hard work and long hours make our democracy possible.
In the Democratic primary for Pennsylvania’s 16th Congressional District, Justin Wagner received 49,096 votes districtwide compared to Mike Kelly’s 44,083. Of Justin Wagner’s 49,096 votes, Mercer County contributed 6,195, including 2,876 absentee/mail ballots and 3,319 Election Day votes. Republican candidate Mike Kelly received 44,083 votes districtwide in the Republican primary.
Sue Mulvey (State Senate District 50) and Christopher Crumby-Ford (State House District 7) both ran successful write-in campaigns during the primary earning themselves a place on the Democratic ticket.
Congratulations to the following Democratic candidates who will appear on the ballot for the General Election on November 3, 2026.
- Josh Shapiro — Governor
- Austin Davis — Lieutenant Governor
- Justin Wagner — U.S. Congress, 16th District
- Sue Mulvey — Pennsylvania Senate, District 50
- Christopher Crumby-Ford — Pennsylvania House, District 7
We also want to congratulate all newly elected and re-elected precinct committee people across Mercer County. Your willingness to step up and serve your communities is deeply appreciated and plays a vital role in strengthening local democracy. Congratulations as well to Diane Syphrit and Jim McClusky on their election as Democratic State Committee representatives.

- October 19, 2026 — Last day to register to vote or update your registration before the general election
- October 27, 2026 — Last day to apply for a mail-in ballot or vote early in person
- November 3, 2026 — General Election Day (polls open 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.)
